Plunger Coffee Hints
(Traditional French Method)
Coffee should be custom ground for plunger by thecoffeemegastore.com or your local coffee professional.
For best results use filtered water.
Allow one semi-heaped dessertspoon of ground coffee per cup (and in larger plungers, one for the pot.) water should be off the boil for a few seconds (90-92c), so you don’t burn the coffee.
Fill with water, stir gently and plunge immediately, being careful not to touch the glass breaker (they are more susceptible to breakage at this temp.)
Remember: stir straight away, plunge straight away and drink straight away. If the grind is ideal it should be firm to plunge-always use one hand to steady the plunger, keeping the spout pointing away from you, and one hand to plunge straight down. Warm cups with hot water and pour your coffee. Avoid reheating coffee as it may sour. Always clean your equipment thoroughly.
